10 ways to be physically healthier

1 Yoga - it doesn't have to be the bendy stuff that the Gurus do, just stretch. Copy the asanas that you enjoy but really it's about stretching your body and breathing. Then if you feel inspired to join a yoga class. But for now, just streeeeetch. 2 Breathe - yep, breathe. But do it consciously. Be aware of your diaphragm. Fill your body with breath in a relaxed, effortless way. 3 Massage - either get one or give yourself one. If you don't like massages then you really need one! 4 Smaller portions - stop eating so much. Enjoy a small portion and if you are really hungry later then eat another small portion. 5 Water - drink more water. Not coffee, tea, juice - just WATER. In the winter boil the kettle. In the winter keep a jug in the fridge. 6 Mediate - I do TM. You can start meditating simply by focusing on your breath with your eyes closed for 20 minutes. 7 Relax, consciously - focus on a part of your body (e.g. your shoulders) and feel them relax. Then after 20 seconds focus on another part of your body and feel it relax. Pay attention to parts of your body and observe each part relax until you have relaxed your entire body. 8 Laugh - it's great for your body so look for the fun in each area of your life. 9 Walk - just go for a walk, every day. Get out into nature if at all possible, but a walk around the streets is a good start. 10 Be easy on yourself - just take it easy, slow down and smile.
